July 21, 2024 – 🇧🇪 Belgian National Day

On July 21, the Consular Corps of the Province of Namur had the honor of actively participating in the celebrations of the Belgian National Day 🇧🇪. This significant event began with a warm welcome at the Provincial Palace, offered by Denis Mathen, Governor of the Province of Namur, in the presence of HRH Prince Laurent 🤝.

The members of the Consular Corps then took part in the Te Deum, sung in the magnificent Saint-Aubain Cathedral ⛪. This solemn ceremony was followed by a procession to Place Léopold 🚶, demonstrating unity and respect for the nation.

The Consular Corps was represented by:

• Magali Dugardin , Honorary Consul of the Republic of Congo 🇨🇬 and President of the Consular Corps

• Jerome Bestgen , Honorary Consul of Haiti 🇭🇹 and Head of Protocol

• Frédéric Lernoux , Honorary Consul of Mongolia 🇲🇳, Academic Relations Officer

Among the distinguished personalities present, we had the honor of counting on:

• Mr. Maxime Prévot , Mayor of Namur 🏛️

• Annick Castiaux , Rector of the University of Namur 🎓

• A delegation led by Mrs. Monique Blanco Boulet , Mayor of Lafayette 🌎

In the evening, Baron Ernest de Lamine de Bex, Honorary Consul of Malta 🇲🇹, graciously invited members of the Consular Corps to a reception at the splendid Château d'Ophem 🏰.
