On August 24, the Consular Corps of the Province of Namur had the pleasure of attending the famous “Concours de Menteries”, hosted by the Société Royale Moncrabeau — a local institution in Namur dedicated to celebrating the art of humorous storytelling and eloquence.
This colorful and longstanding tradition brings together speakers who compete to deliver the most imaginative and outrageous tale, all while keeping a perfectly straight face.
It’s a festival of humor, creativity, and public speaking — where the best performer is not judged by truth, but by talent.
🎉 Congratulations to Benjamin “ßriot”, who was once again crowned “Prince Président des Menteurs” (Prince President of the Storytellers) for the second year in a row!
His eloquence, delivery, and comic timing earned him top honors in this highly entertaining competition.

👏 The Consular Corps salutes the Société Royale Moncrabeau for preserving this unique cultural tradition and for showcasing the vibrant spirit of Namur through laughter and storytelling.
