February 9, 2023 – Meeting of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors of Brussels (GAF‑B)

Invitation to the meeting of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors of Brussels (GAF-B), which took place at the Provincial Palace of Namur on February 9. This meeting brought together 40 ambassadors and diplomats, members of the GAF-B, who discussed topics related to the promotion of the Francophonie and international cooperation.

This group, created in 1996, aims to contribute to maintaining and strengthening French-speaking dialogue and consultation and to promoting the international influence and influence of the Francophonie. It brings together numerous Ambassadors from the 88 member States and Governments of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) accredited to the Kingdom of Belgium and to the European Union. The Presidency is held by Romania 🇷🇴 (SE Andreea Pastarnac, Ambassador of Romania to the Kingdom of Belgium) and the Representation of the OIF to the EU (SE Fatou Isidora Niang, Ambassador) provides the secretariat.

Our Governor, HE Mr. Denis Mathen presented 🎤 the strengths of our Province during this day, alongside other speakers such as the University of Namur , Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech 👨🎓 and the BEP Namur 🏢. This presentation was an opportunity to highlight the strengths and projects of the Province of Namur , but also to discuss with the diplomats present their perspectives on the Francophonie and international cooperation.

This event was a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration and cooperation between the various French-speaking stakeholders and to reaffirm the availability of the Consular Corps of the Province of Namur to support this dynamic.
