April 16, 2024 – Presentation on Mongolia 🇲🇳 and the Challenges of a Modern Democracy

The University of Liège donned the colors of #Mongolia 🇲🇳 during an academic conference given by HE Bold Luvsanvandan, Ambassador of Mongolia to 🇧🇪 Belgium, 🇱🇺 Luxembourg, 🇳🇱 Netherlands, and 🇪🇺 European Union, who gave a brilliant presentation on Mongolia and the challenges of modern #diplomacy.

Many thanks to my esteemed colleague, Professor Christian Behrendt, Full Professor at the University of Liège, Centre for Public and Constitutional Law and Human Rights, for this wonderful initiative 🎓.

It provided an opportunity to present the geopolitical and cultural specificities of Mongolia to an audience of more than 500 students from ULiège - Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology.

Among the many topics discussed, we would like to highlight two key elements shared by HE Bold Luvsanvandan, Ambassador of Mongolia:

📌 Third Neighbor Policy refers to establishing relationships with countries other than its two geographic neighbors, with strong involvement in international institutions, particularly the United Nations 🌐.

📌 The policy of neutrality as a central element of foreign policy, reaffirming the intrinsic values of democracy and the rule of law ⚖️.

The Consular Corps of the Province of Namur would like to express its gratitude to Frédéric Lernoux, Honorary Consul of Mongolia 🇲🇳 in #Wallonia, for his role in organizing this event. His contribution as head of academic relations was particularly valuable.

The number and relevance of interactions during the Q&A session were excellent indicators of the quality of this event 🎤.

The Consular Corps of the Province of Namur warmly thanks Professor Pascal Poncin, First Vice-Rector, for his opening speech, as well as Pascale Ruth for her impeccable management of protocol aspects. Our thanks also extend to all the organizing teams and to the Embassy of Mongolia in Brussels, whose commitment greatly contributed to the success of this event. 👏
